Trinity Singers is a small all-female vocal ensemble led by musicologist Maureen Clement. Their haunting harmonies have an ethereal folk-like quality, infused with Caribbean rhythms. Their main thrust is to spread God’s Word in song. Their ministry is centred around the underprivileged, shut-ins, seniors, women and children.
Their ministry includes visits to the prisons for both men and women, each once per month, where they share the Word of God with the inmates. Once a year they visit Homes and Half-Way Houses for: (a) underprivileged children and orphans and (b) Senior Citizens. They also visit and perform for patients in hospitals with special focus on the gerontology and palliative wards. These visits include singalongs or short concerts.
Trinity Singers perform at charitable functions, weddings, funerals and institutions of need. The choir’s repertoire comprises Songs of Praise and Worship, Hymns, a few popular secular items, Christmas Carols and parang, which is mostly comprised of local compositions.
